I am constantly scouring brick and mortar and online shops for gorgeous vintage purses. I generally tend toward maximalism. Minimalist trends are not for me. I love brocade, florals, colors, and textures. A combination of materials, patterns, and textures really makes me happy.
Recently, while looking through my favorites list on Etsy, I realized I’ve been saving a lot of vintage handbags with wood frames and handles.
I’ve been planning to make a bag with a wood handle, but I’ve discovered so many vintage bags that I thought I should share them with you all. There is something magical about finding a perfect vintage bag.
I know there are some of you out there who would rather buy than sew, and to tell you the truth, I most often prefer vintage too! So here you go!
These purses have my heart and they are an incredibly affordable way to add some vintage to your wardrobe.
If you have your eye on some fabric and you’d like to try your hand at making a purse of your own, I’ve gathered some DIY resources for you

If you buy or make one of these purses, be sure to share a picture with me! I’d love to see how you sew and/or style it! If you post a pic on Instagram, be sure to mention me @adifferentdrum and tag #ddvintage.
