As a young girl, I would flip through my Grandma Lois’ collection of Victorian Era scrapbooks. The saturated florals made a big impression on my young mind. You can imagine how thrilled I am that modern fashion has taken a turn toward floral maximalism. If you read my blog on a regular basis, you don’t have to imagine, you know.
From Valentino flower ladies to vintage Laura Ashley dresses, I am thrilled to be swimming in a sea of floral fashion. Now that we are stuck indoors, I find myself turning to Instagram and Etsy for my floral fix.
I was excited to discover Alexander McQueen’s three-dimensional flower challenge yesterday. The ask: Make a 3D flower from any material you can find in your house and share it on Instagram with tags @AlexanderMcQueen and #McQueenCreators. And do it by Tuesday, April 14th.
Of course, I did it. I clicked on the hashtag and allowed myself to drown in a sea of flowers for a bit. A refreshing bath during this difficult time.
I can’t think of a better way to spend springtime indoors. It is snowing outside of my window right now and these colors added some much-needed cheer to my quarantine day.
What do you think? Are you going to enter the challenge? If you enter this challenge, be sure to let me know. I’d love to check out your feed and flowers!
